Visiting Professionals

Christian Clayton and Kathryn Vaughn are the 2004 US National Rising Star Ballroom Champions. They are active competitive dancers, having earned many titles all over the U.S. They have been featured in the "L.A. Times" and travel around the country to dance professionally. They own and operate Swing and Sway Dance Studio in Rockland, Maine.

Mandy Ball has been teaching ballroom dancing for 28 years. She sold her two studios in New England before moving to Florida six years ago. Mandy is a Fellow with the USISTD in Ballroom dancing and also holds Licentiate degrees in the Smooth and Rhythm styles of dancing. She is currently the USISTD Examinations Director. She trains both professional and amateur dancers for social and competitive dancing as well as for dance examinations.

Maine Ballroom offers on-site individual and group instruction to students of all ages in waltz, foxtrot, tango, rumba, cha cha, swing, and many other dances including Country and Latin Line Dancing. We also offers classes off site to local businesses, adult education programs, high schools, colleges and private groups. Our instructors teach both American and International style ballroom and continue to receive training from leading professionals from throughout North America. Studio staff and students often perform for nursing homes, fund raisers, educational events, and downtown Portland celebrations.
